COMPOSIT AT THE EASTERN CHAPTER MEETING 2019

Composit took part in the annual meeting of the WEDA (Western Dredging Association) Eastern Chapter, that kicked off the evening of October 16 in Wilmington, with a well-attended ice breaker reception. The two-day meeting was a huge success with over 150 people attending, many from the USACE, as well vendors, dredging contractors, engineering firms and state government environmental agencies. The chapter leaders’ main objective was to bring together these groups to demonstrate the benefits that are created when all sides work together. The program consisted of technical presentations of why there is a need to expand beneficially using sediment, to creating tidal wetlands and marshes with deep & thin layers of dredged material and identifying collaborative opportunities for natural infrastructure. In addition, there were multiple project presentations that demonstrated the difference such techniques can make in not only preserving our coastal areas and improving or re-creating lost eco systems, but at the same time enhancing commercial activity. At this meeting our company presented the samples of Composit rubber hoses which are used for carrying out dredging works.
